Story time! I recently moved into an apartment with my family since we all got tired of living in a house (maintenance, etc) and although we all got used to it pretty quickly, my cats had some new things to learn. You see, my cats would often look outside the windows at my old house and see other cats, and in turn would do that cute little chirping/chattering thing at them. But they never really got close to the outdoor cats since they were always off in the distance. My cats are both strictly indoor cats, so aside from each other they don’t see other cats. Well, since we’re on the bottom level Ellie (the grey and white cat) will often sit by the screen door and look at squirrels and other things outside. A few weeks ago a white cat (as seen outside) will walk past our apartment and have a staredown with Ellie for a few seconds. Every time they see each other now they stare longer and get closer and closer. A few days ago the white cat actually stood outside the back door (as you can see) and stared at Ellie for a good 10 minutes or so. If I ever find out who the cat’s owner is I’m considering setting up a playdate for them. I think Ellie needs to be more social and this new cat seems quite interested in my little kitty!
